Another week of dominance for the Giants and Jets and another week of MNF comebacks...
AaronBrooks2JoeHorn vs Gani's Greats
I know, I know, I know... you guys are probably asking yourselves "Why in the world would I start off with a battle of 2 of the worse teams in the league?" Well for the 2nd week in a row Gabe has found himself in a comeback win, this time, on the wrong end. Gani's Greats, without a win, has been itching for a week like this where he could beat up on Gabe's squad. But needing only 5 points out of Shiancoe, Russell's fate was in the hands of a TE. In a last ditch effort, Brett Favre tried to rally his team and with a 20yd rec by Shiancoe, Gabe could almost taste victory. Unfortunately Brett Favre's penis got in the way and Gabe lost by less than 1 point. lol. Gabe finally got big weeks out of Brandon Jackson and Steve Smith, but with only .6, yes, .6 points out of Tim Lowtower, AaronBrooks2JoeHorn couldn't hold on. For the first time all year there are some positive things, not many, to discuss about Gani's Greats. Benson finally broke out and Zach Miller continues to impress. With Andre Johnson continuing to get healthy, maybe there is a chance for Russell's team. Then again, probably not. It does not get any easier for Gani's Greats as they take on the Fantasy Phenom in the battle of the Evil Empire. Gabe faces off against an up and coming Silk/Stein TBA team.
The Co-Conspirators vs AP+PM=Playoffs100%
In another close matchup, this game once again came down to MNF. It was J-E-T-S vs Minnesota. Down about 6 points, the Co-Conspirators needed a solid night out of Jets Def and Braylon, but at the same time Wolff needed a decent day out of Minnesota Def and AP. Jeremy had to be feeling confident, but on the final drive of the game, his hopes were diminished. A Jets pick 6 clinched the win for Frank (Steve is yet to be seen/heard from in FF). A text from Jeremy after the game went something like this "I want to kill myself". Gates continues to impress for Wolff and the increasing workload for Felix Jones has got to have Wolff feeling alright. But a season ending injury to Mark Clayton, who was off to a great start, could hurt his chances. As for the Co-Conspirators, who are trying to prove they are not the most poorly run organization, would have lost to any other team this week, but fortunately for them they played a Wolff. Even with a .8 pt performance out of Mike Bell, Jets defense carried his team to the victory. Next week, the Co-Conspirators take on a hot Johnson & Johnson squad, while AP+PM=NotLookingLikePlayoffs100% travels to Africa.
Fantasy Phenom vs Johnson & Johnson
In the battle of maybe the 2 best teams in the league, this matchup sure did not live up to the hype. Jeff beat Sussman by almost 60 points in a good ol fashioned ass kicking. Malcolm Flloyd put up a whopping 31 points and CJ2K bounced back with a 25 points performance. But maybe the start of the week has to go to Shaun Hill who put up 22 points. Great bye-week start there. As for Sussman, fellow Wolfpack Philip Rivers continues his dominance and Crabtree and Fitz got the job done. Unfortunately, an injury to Finley could hurt the Fantasy Phenom for the next few weeks. Its safe to say that Foster will bounce back nicely, a game next week against Gani's Greats might just be what the doctor ordered. Johnson & Johnson hopes to continue his success against a hot Co-Conspirator team.
The Return of the Rash vs Oh Africa
This was easily the highest scoring matchup of the week. It sucks that somebody had to be on the losing end of this one, and that just happened to be Africa. Even with a poor outing out of Matt Schaub, Heller was still able to shit out double digit scorers all over Jason's face. Led by Matt Forte's 32 point performance, Heller put up nearly 150 points. With Randy Moss and Roddy White as his Wr's I don't think Heller's rash is going anywhere. On the other hand, Jason can't be to upset over this loss. He still put up 125 points even with both his wr's putting up a combined 7 points. Ray Rice appears to be back and if he continues to get goal line carries, he will be as valuable as he was when he was drafted and TO continues to dominate too. Next week Africa plays Wolff in what will most certainly be a heated matchup. As for Heller, he will take on a Dri-Squad who has been continuing to impress.
Dri Squad vs NY Jets
In another ass-kicking, the Dri Squad took down NY Jets by nearly 40 points. You would think that with the name NY Jets, that maybe Gumnic's team would be playing good, but unfortunately he has the opposite record of the REAL NY Jets. Romo had a great week for Gumnic, but he is still a fag and the Cowboys suck. Idk what that has to do with anything, I just felt like saying it. Gumnic will need to get better play out of Thomas Jones and Jonathan Stewart if he wants to climb back up in the rankings. As for the Dri Squad, there just isn't much wrong to say here. His team continues to impress and this week was no different. If Hakeem "I'm the best wr in the league" Nicks and Brandon Lloyd Christmas continue to put up a combined 60 points, how could you beat this team? And with LdT continuing to dominate, Adam has himself a very solid team. Watch out for the Dri Squad folks, just like I said about Johnson & Johnson a few weeks back, this team could be a darkhorse. Adam will play another hot team in the Return of the Rash. As for NY Jets, they take on another team that is headed for the depths in Mr. Bojangles.
Mr. Bojangles vs Silk/Stein TBA
Another disappointing week for Mr. Bojangles. With both starting WR's on bye (Welker and Marshall) he needed Dez Bryant and Manningham to step up. And for the 2nd week in a row they didn't. Even with 20 point performances out of McCoy and Eli (finally), his wr's put up a combined 3.7 points, including 0 from Manningham who in his 2 starts for Bojangles has put up a whopping 0 points. As for Silk/Stein, they still havent changed there names, but they win their 2nd in a row. Even without Brady, McNabb was able to put up 17 points. Miles Austin went off again with 27 points and for the 2nd week in a row, Bojangles gets destroyed by the opposing Def. Philly Def put up 18 points which all but ended Bojangles come back attempt. Silk/Stein may be able to get another win when they face off against AaronBrooks2JoeHorn next week. As for Bojangles, he MUST bounce back against a desperate NY Jets team.
Power Rankings and Weekly Awards will be posted at some point later today....
